A frozen car window is one of those things that make our mornings painful. So let’s get rid of this pain quickly and without too much effort. Here are 10 ways to unfreeze car windows:
1. Prevent icing
While there are several ways to unfreeze frozen car windows they are all reactive. The easiest way is to simply prevent the icing and act proactively. And it’s way easier than you might think. What you will need is a blanket/towel/sheet or similar material. Simply cover your window with the sheet at night and it will keep ice from forming on windows. Use windshield wipers to hold the sheet and small weights for other windows. In the morning remove the sheets and put them in a warm place so that you could use them again. Take a plastic scraper and remove small icy spots from the window – they can form even though you have used a sheet, so don’t be surprised.

2. Use windshield defroster
Turn the heater on at full blast and turn AC on. Disable the inside air circulation and wait for some time. When the ice starts melting you can try removing it manually. 3. Buy a de-icer
Nowadays you can select various deicers from numerous companies. Spay deicer over the windows and the ice should start disappearing. The common issue with deicers is that they damage paintwork and window seals, so be very careful when spraying them.
4. Use Water + Vinegar spray
You’ll need a spray bottle, 3/4 cup of white vinegar & 1/4 cup of water. Mix the liquids and spray on the windows overnight. It should prevent icing.
5. Use Water
This way should be your plan Z and only be used if you are not able to unfreeze your car’s windows in another way. You need to pour cold (not warm and not boiling) water on the frozen window and you should see the effect immediately. Then just swipe windows and you’re ready to go.
